Switching between two devices is problematic at best, simply doesn't work much of the time. Some applications, e.g. Youtube on smart TVs don't seem to register as playing or pausing, so the only solution is to disconnect and reconnect the device and try again. Rather than have the application advise to stop playback on one device and then perform playback operations on the other (which doesn't work), why not actually allow that switch to be performed in the app?

Nice idea; I love the idea of settings synced to my Sony account and usage statistics recorded and saved by the app (also cloud synced). However, the login token expires way too quickly; I have to sign in and then manually synchronize my settings basically every time I use the app. This annoyance makes the app cumbersome and disappointing instead of useful. Even apps with my payment info (e.g. Amazon) save login tokens for a year or longer, so there's no reason it needs to expire so fast here.

The latest firmware update for my XM5 earbuds is borked and won't install. It just hangs at 2% and then says "aborted" with no other explanation. I've tried factory resetting both the earbuds and the app per web support but it doesn't fix the issue. Even when disabling the auto firmware update, the left earbud now cuts out randomly. It's bad enough the app itself can't seem to stay connected to the earbuds breaking firmware updates is really annoying.
